Joe Crisp
I’m Joe Crisp of Mountain Mold & Die, Inc. Welcome to our new website.
Just a few words about what you’ll find here and why we made the changes from our old sites.
After 40+ years in the manufacturing business I’ve found “change for the sake of change” is usually not productive. I don’t like disruption, and I don’t break things without considering the cost to repair or replace. I prefer to know our customers, suppliers and employees well enough to not be surprised on a monthly basis, much less moment by moment. So, call me old-fashioned but it is 2025 so it’s time for a rebuild.
I hope that combining all our products and related sites here will be an easy transition for our customers. If you’re looking for our injection molding or mold making capabilities, they’re still here and should be easy to find.
If you are looking for SurveyCaps.com, rebarlite.com or JobTrays.com they have all been combined into the Our Products section. The information there will be the same as it was on the old sites. The eCommerce section or “eStore” as I call it, will be where you can login and place orders. I’ve instructed the site builders to keep it simple and to make it work like the old sites.
This effort is to obtain a higher level of service and efficiency in getting you what you want at a fair price. We will be transitioning to web orders only after the site is fully functional.
We appreciate your business.

Survey Markers
Few professions allow someone to put their mark on the world in so many places as does the land surveyor. Land surveyors have been doing this throughout history. They carefully place their mark whether building infrastructure for empires or subdividing property for rural homeowners. Surviving many inevitable title changes, their marks will remain.
“Hello land surveyors,” I’m Joe Crisp of mtnmold.com.
Making and selling something allow you to get to know your customers. Especially if the product is custom or personalized. I have gotten to know many surveyors during the past 20+ years. You are a very unique and talented group and I certainly enjoy hearing your stories, along with a few complaints. I want to encourage you to get in touch with us and share your experience.
I also hope you would enjoy some of my stories. Like when I visited the geographic center of the United States (all 50) in Belle Fourche, SD.

Of course the actual site and maker are outside of town on a farm. It is to0 remote for tourist visits and the farmer had got tired of people knocking down his crops. I’m sure many of you have visited similar sites that have historical significance.
Back in 2010, my family and I were on a 2 week 4000 mile tour of the great western states. We were north of Death Valley and I needed a break, so we stopped on Hwy 95. There on the side of the road, in the middle of nowhere, was this survey pin.
I’ve often wondered how deep that pipe was and what shape the bottom split end of the pipe would look like if I could see underground.
Have any of you been to Meades Station in Kansas. https://www.penryfamily.com/geographicalcenters/meadesranch.html
And what is the connection between “station Waldo” and the guy in the red and white shirt striped shirt we look for in crowds? (That was me trying to be funny). But seriously, we are very fortunate to have so many wonderful places in America.
Just a few of mine are Mt. Mitchell, NC – Brays Point, OR – Muir Beach Overlook, CA, Black Elks Peak, SD and Clingmans Dome in TN.
I would like to hear about and see some of the most interesting pins you have set. Just send me an email at [email protected].
I hope to hear from you soon.
How we make our caps
When you place your first order with us, we make a steel insert with your custom ID on it. This takes a little time, but it is worth and it allows us to reproduce your exact cap time after time. This was our plan from the beginning, and our customers love the fact that no one can copy their caps.
This process allows us to protect your ID even further by molding the letters deep into the cap where they can not be altered or removed. Unlike hot stamped or pad printed caps with black letters that fade or get scraped off, the RingGuard cap is as permanent as it gets.
Repeat orders are a snap. We can vary the size and color of your caps, and your steel insert has been cataloged and stored in our facility. We place your insert into one of our molds, add the color you want, then mold your caps and ship them direct to you. No middle man, no imported caps, just the best caps in the world shipped direct to you exactly the same time after time.
It’s really that simple.
